You already shave off minutes from your night-time routine with travel size makeup wipes, now find out how to cut your morning beauty routine in half with these simple tricks designed to save you time, money, and energy.
It would be wonderful to have a free hour in the morning to get ready and apply your morning beauty routine in a relaxed, serene environment. But with family, children, late nights, and unintended sleep-ins getting in the way, sometimes you’ve got little more than a five-minute hurried makeup splash-and-dash before heading out the door to work. But just like travel size makeup wipes save you time before bed, these beauty hacks will save you time in the morning.
When You Don’t Have Time to Wash Your Hair
When you’re running late something must go, and a proper hair wash is usually first on the list since it can add so much time to your daily routine. If you’ve got a little bit of time but not a lot, try adding a drop of shampoo – little more than the size of a pea – to the palm of your hand and mix with a few drops of water. Use your fingers to rub your tiny shampoo mix through the length of your hair and, if your roots are looking oily or frizzy, into your hairline too.
Next, wet your fingers and run them through the length of your hair a few times, then blow-dry your hair while combing and heightening it with your fingers. You’ve just saved about 30 minutes off your usual shampooing, conditioning, blow drying routine, and no one will be able to tell the difference.
Dry shampoo is a well-known beauty tool to refresh your hair when you don’t have time to wash it, and can be just as time-saving as travel size makeup wipes. But if you’ve run out of dry shampoo, talcum powder can work just as well. Just be aware that talcum powder can make your hair look a few shades lighter if not properly worked through. Use a blast of air from your hairdryer while raking your fingers through your hair to distribute the powder evenly.
When Your Roots Are Showing
When your roots are showing but your hair appointment isn’t for a while yet, make your roots less obvious by changing where you part your hair. Your hair gets used to being parted in the same place and will lie flatter in that area, showing more of your roots. Simply moving your part slightly to one side will cause your hair to stand up on end slightly at the site of the new part, making the roots less obvious. A zigzag or haphazard part will also give the illusion of more evenly colored roots.
When You’re Dealing with Flyaway Hair or Wayward Bobby Pins
When the look of your sleek pony or stylish up-do is ruined by flyaway hair, spray a little hairspray onto a spare toothbrush and use that to comb the stray hairs into place. In a pinch, travel size makeup wipes can be used to smooth down flyaway hair to keep your ponytail looking sleek.
Speaking of hairspray, spray a little on to your bobby pins before you insert them into your hairdo, and they’ll stay in place much longer. This is especially useful for people with thin hair or anyone who has trouble with bobby pins stay in place.
When Your Waves Don’t Last
Braiding your hair at night will give you a lovely wave in the morning, but unfortunately the waves don’t tend to last very long. To extend the lifetime of your braided waves, run a flat iron directly down the length of your braids to heat them up, and then let them cool down before you take the braids out.
You may be surprised at just how long your waves will last after you’ve heated up your braids and cooled them down before releasing your hair into the wild.
When You’ve Got Dark Circles Under Your Eyes
Nothing can make you look more tired and worse for wear the dark circles under your eyes. To take care of this common problem, firstly use TAKE OFFZ travel size makeup wipes to remove any old makeup, then use a color correcting concealer to neutralize the color under your eyes.
A common mistake many people make is to use a concealer that is the same shade as their foundation. But to correctly neutralize dark circles under your eyes, you may need to reach for a completely different shade of color than you would normally put anywhere near your face. If your under-eye circles are dark blue, use a peach colored concealer to neutralize the blue. If it’s a red under-eye area that is causing you grief, a green concealer will do the trick.
And rather than just applying the color correcting concealer directly on top of your under-eye circles, imagine a triangle created by the outside and inside corners of your eye and the outer edge of your nostril. Fill in the entire area of the triangle with your color correcting concealer and blend it into your skin, especially at the edges of the triangle.
Then carry on with your normal makeup routine, and marvel at the fact that your under-eye circles have been completely neutralized.
One Time You Won’t Need Travel Size Makeup Wipes: When You’ve Smudged Your Eyeliner
If you’ve smudged your eyeliner, this is one time that we will advise you to not reach for the TAKE OFFZ travel size makeup wipes to remove your eyeliner and start again. Instead, smudge the eyeliner using a Q-Tip, and turn what was intended to be a perfect line into a smudgy eye appearance. The result will be a smoldering look, and one that will most likely turn out a lot better than if you removed your smudged eyeliner and started again.
When You’re Dealing with Cracked Heels
If you’ve got dry feet and cracked heels but don’t have time to condition and exfoliate your feet, do it while you sleep instead.
Before you head to bed, apply a generous amount of Vaseline or peppermint moisturizer to your feet, concentrating on your heels and any other areas that are particularly dry or cracked. Cover your feet with thick socks, then head to bed. You’ll notice your feet looking much smoother and feeling fantastic in the morning.
When You Need to Hide a Bruise
When your outfit for the day includes a sun dress or tank top, you were preparing to show a little skin. And nothing will ruin that look more than an unsightly bruise.
A little-known treatment for a fresh bruise is mouthwash. Apply a small amount of mouthwash directly to your bruise by dabbing it on with a cotton swab, and your bruise will only look better and be much less noticeable. The mouthwash will also reduce the bruises healing time.
