Why You Should Consider Donating Antibacterial Wipes to Disaster Victims

It has been almost a month since Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. However, many of the island’s 3.4 million citizens are still living without power, safe shelter or access to clean drinking water.

The situation in Puerto Rico is dire and the rest of the world looks on feeling helpless.

What Do Aid Agencies Need from Us?

There are three ways that we can assist the people of Puerto Rico get back on their feet.

The simplest and most effective way is to donate money. Do your research to find a reputable not-for-profit organization and give what you can.

If you want to volunteer, get in contact with an agency that will match you with groups on the ground that are requesting volunteers.

What About Donations of Items?

Many organizations welcome donations such as clean blankets and towels, new underwear, non-perishable foods, batteries, and flashlights.

In times of crisis, personal hygiene products, feminine sanitary products, antibacterial wipes , toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby formula and food, diapers and wipes, and first aid supplies are also invaluable.

Ongoing Assistance – Keep Those Donations of Antibacterial Wipes Coming!

Recovery efforts happen in phases and is an ongoing process. Often the most help is needed weeks or even months after disaster has struck.

Why not set give some money to your chosen charity now and over the next two or three months, put together a care package? Add a bottle of shampoo, some antibacterial wipes, tampons or sanitary napkins to your weekly grocery shop. Then drop it off to a charity that will transport those items to people in need as they begin to rebuild their lives.
