Many organizations welcome donations such as clean blankets and towels, new underwear, non-perishable foods, batteries, and flashlights.
In times of crisis, personal hygiene products, feminine sanitary products, antibacterial wipes , toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby formula and food, diapers and wipes, and first aid supplies are also invaluable.

Recovery efforts happen in phases and is an ongoing process. Often the most help is needed weeks or even months after disaster has struck.
Why not set give some money to your chosen charity now and over the next two or three months, put together a care package? Add a bottle of shampoo, some antibacterial wipes, tampons or sanitary napkins to your weekly grocery shop. Then drop it off to a charity that will transport those items to people in need as they begin to rebuild their lives.
